Robert Bagwell Biography

Robert Bagwell advises private sector clients on general privacy policy strategy and on strategic issues involving the use of RFID and data collection.  He also advises EPCglobal, the entity implementing the Electronic Product Code version of radio frequency identification (RFID). 

From 1992 through 2006, Bagwell worked with various Retail 1000 and their suppliers in developing and deploying wireless mobile data collection solutions within retail stores.  Bagwell sold and deployed various solutions to: Safeway, Longs Drugs, Costco, Wal-Mart, Macys, Gap, Ross, Best Buy, Fred Meyer, Home Depot and others. 

In 2006 Bagwell began working with Checkpoint Solutions and has been active in developing RFID based Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) solutions and advising on the effects of recent privacy legislation on RFID, EAS and Security solutions for retail.

Bagwell graduated from Cal. State University / Hayward with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science followed on by an MBA.  He is also a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) from this organization.
